5 Ways to Give During Sexual Assault Awareness Month (and Every Other Month)

April 19, 2020

1 . Give Your Time

By giving your time or talents, making an impact could look like volunteering as a Volunteer Advocate providing emotional support on our 24-Hour Crisis Hotline or by volunteering with community outreach, fundraising, administrative tasks in the office, or through our prevention and education efforts.

2. Give Your Skills

Are you a talented graphic design, grant writer, photographer, creative, fundraiser, maker, or have another skill you would like to contribute to supporting survivors and preventing violence in the Lowcountry? Many generous community supporters have used their skills to help us craft our message on social media, donate beautiful items or space for fundraising events, or served on our Board of Directors. We always appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with innovative and generous leaders in the community!

I’d like to make an impact with a skill!

3. Give Financially

With the pandemic impacting our private and corporate donations, we are in desperate need of financial support. We have several programs where we need additional financial support, including our prevention and education programs, financial aid to pay for unforeseen costs for victims, support group supplies, and more. We have several options for donating financially. Private donations really do allow us to continue to provide services, free of charge, and we hope you would consider making any contribution.

4. Give the Gift of Giving

Facebook is a great way to raise awareness by starting a fundraiser to let your friends and family know you stand with survivors. By sharing with your friends, you will be making an impact for TCS while also letting your friends know there are resources available to them if they have been impacted by violence.

5. Give Through Amazon

Amazon Wish List
After a forensic exam, a victim may need new clothes, bedsheets or access to face masks or tissues. We also appreciate donations for needed office items such as sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, face masks, folders, pens, etc.

Amazon Smile
AmazonSmile is a simple way for you to support Tri-County S.P.E.A.K.S. every time you shop, at no cost to you. Amazon will donate .5% of every purchase to TCS. Last quarter, we received almost $100!

We invite you to participate in making an impact in our community through any of these methods of giving. For a survivor, having free access to essential services is the beginning of their healing journey and we couldn’t do this work without you.
